Technical textiles are complex products. Even when you use the same recipe to manufacture the fabric, things just happen sometimes. At Foxa, we strive for high quality in everything we do, and that’s why we invest in fabric quality control. Batches of fabric are tested twice at our laboratory. The first test is carried out on shipping samples before we give the factory permission to ship the products, and the second is carried out once the fabrics arrive at Foxa’s warehouse.

Despite testing and strict quality control, we nevertheless sometimes have to admit that the fabric doesn’t fully correspond to what we had promised the customer. Most commonly, this relates to an individual property that doesn’t quite meet the requirements. For example, the water column value of a fabric after five washes might be 2000mm, even though we have promised a value of over 3000m after washing for the fabric in question. In such cases, we categorise the product as B-quality.

Fabrics categorised as B-quality are often extremely high-quality fabrics despite their status.  And as the fabrics are thoroughly tested, we know their precise properties. There is great demand for our B-quality products, as a small shortcoming, such as in the water column value, makes no difference in other applications for the fabric.

We also sell special batches of A-quality fabrics in clearance if they are left over after a project delivery. We look for new applications and customers for all of them – at a good price, of course. Circular economy at its best!
